There’s a lot to look forward to on this 6-day exploration of three of Kenya’s top destinations.
Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya, the highest peak being 5,199 m. While visiting there, you’ll have the option to go trekking up the mountain, or on a game drive to explore its surroundings.
At Meru National Park, you can keep an eye out for “the special five” and other interesting species. While at the Samburu Game Reserve, you’ll see everything from big cats, to elephants and Somali ostriches.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi ~ Mount Kenya

Stop At: Mount Kenya National Park, Mount Kenya National Park
Once you arrive in Kenya, your safari guide will greet you at the Airport, where you’ll be briefed about the days ahead. He’ll be your driver, tour guide and source of information for all things Kenya throughout your safari.
This is when your journey begins. You’ll be taken to your accommodation, where you can get settled and have lunch. After which you’ll head out on your first game drive around Mount Kenya or go for a light hike. You’ll be introduced to some of the regions two- and four-legged residents and enjoy the stunning vistas.

Day 2: Mount Kenya (full day)

Stop At: Mount Kenya National Park, Mount Kenya National Park
Mount Kenya is the second largest mountain in Africa. With 5,199 meters, it’s just a little lower than Kilimanjaro and a lot less touristy. With it’s beautiful scenery, it makes the perfect spot for an adventure off the beaten track.
Duration: 7 hours

Meals included:

• Lunch: Option 1 – full day trek with picnic lunch.
Option 2 – trek in the morning, return for lunch, afternoon game drive.
• Dinner
Accommodation included: Overnight in a 3-star lodge or camp.

Day 3: Mount Kenya ~ Meru National Park

Stop At: Meru National Park, Meru National Park, Eastern Province
After breakfast, you will say goodbye to Mount Kenya as you head to Meru National Park.
Once you’ve arrived and had lunch, it’s time for your first game drive around the park. Thanks to the abundance of rainfall in this area, the scenery is a mixture swamp lands and tall grass. A lot less popular that the Maasai Mara area, Meru is considered the hidden gem of Kenyan Safari tours.

Day 4: Meru National Park ~ Samburu National Reserve

Stop At: Samburu National Reserve, Samburu National Reserve, Samburu District, Rift Valley Province
After breakfast, you will say goodbye to Meru National Park as you head to the Samburu National Reserve.
Once you’ve arrived and had lunch, it’s time for your first game drive around the reserve. The Ewaso Ng’iro river runs trough the reserve, which serves as a water hole for the abundant wildlife in the area.

Day 5: Samburu National Reserve (full day)

Stop At: Samburu National Reserve, Samburu National Reserve, Samburu District, Rift Valley Province
On this full day of game drives, you can look forward to seeing the reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich and several other uncommon species. If you’re very lucky, you may even spot the endangered African wild dog out on the hunt for food.
At the end of this full day of game drives, you’ll head back to your accommodation for dinner. Then it’s time to settle in for the night and prepare to leave in the morning.

Option 2 – morning game drive, return for lunch, afternoon game drive.

Day 6: Samburu National Reserve ~ Nairobi

Pass By: Nairobi, Nairobi
After breakfast, your guide will drive you back to Nairobi, where he will drop you off at the airport or your hotel. He will wish you farewell and leave you to continue your adventures in Kenya, or to head out on your journey back home.
