Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Nairobi, Nairobi
Nairobi – Kitengela Town
8 am – Depart Nairobi by boarding a matatu to Kitengela town. Arrive in Kitengela town at around half past 9 am. Start the safari by climbing on the back of a motorbike to a small farming community on the southeastern side of Nairobi National Park. Watch for herds of gazelle, zebras, camels, and wildebeest. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the complete tour, as Kitengela is home to large species of birds, such as vultures and storks. The motorbikes will stop throughout this ride so that you may alight and take pictures up close and personal with the animals we meet on our way to the next destination. This will take about an hour.

Kitengela Town – Maasai Guide’s House
11 am – Our first stop will be at the home of our private Maasai guide who will explain the adventures that await. Enjoy a fresh mandazi and cold drink before continuing our journey on foot. Hiking through the distinctive rolling hills and rocky slopes heading towards the bottom of the Mbagathi River. Where we will greet Maasai women making local handcrafts before meeting our armed ranger for a quick walking safari inside Nairobi National Park’s – Hippo Pool Nature Trail. Spot the hippos that linger just at the surface of the water and the crocodiles that sunbathe on the islands in the valley below. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the tour, as Kitengela is home to large birds, including vultures and storks.

12 pm – Next stop is a break for lunch overlooking the scenic southeastern view of Nairobi National Park. The group will enjoy a traditional Kenyan picnic with a cold beverage. Bring your binoculars to catch a tower of giraffes at play in the distance and be aware of buffalos grazing in the park below. Don’t forget your camera to capture the breathtaking views from our picnic point of Nairobi National Park and the city of Nairobi in the distance. Sit back as our guide continues to share stories of the area pointing out different techniques for tracking the animals.
1 pm – Finishing the safari climb on the back of your motorbike and enjoy the scenic journey back to Kitengela town. Stopping at our last location of the day, a drink with the locals. Drink with the average Kitengelians at a local bar. You will get two hours to sip on a cold drink and chat with the residents of the ‘dusty south’. Before being loaded in a private vehicle to your drop-off location of choice in Nairobi.
