The Depression Marafa, also known as Hell’s Kitchen, is a strange throat sandstone. Known locally as Nyari – the place was once a large sandstone ridge consumed by the wind, rain and flooding that formed a series of jagged ravines.
The colors in layers of sandstone reveal white, pink, orange and deep crimisi, making the throat especially impressive at sunset, when you highlight the tones of ribbed sandstone gorges and reflecting the colors of the sun at sunset.
