Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu
Stop At: Shaba National Reserve, 10km from Archer’s post, on the right side of the A2, Samburu National Reserve Kenya
Pick up from your Nairobi Hotel at 0700 Hours and depart by road driving north crossing the equator from the Southern to the Northern hemisphere to Samburu Game Reserve a semi-arid region excellent for photographers.
Arrive at the camp in time for lunch followed by afternoon game viewing and return back to the camp before sunset.
Samburu is a name of Masai origin ‘Samburr’ being a traditional leather bag for carrying honey and milk. The region is characterized by vast, open landscapes, dried riverbeds (depending on the season of the year) and red volcanic soil. Rock outcroppings contrast against the dense woodland vegetation along the banks of Ewaso Nyiro meaning ‘River of brown water’, the river that gives life to the reserve.

Day 2: Samburu full day
Stop At: Samburu National Reserve, Nairobi Kenya
After breakfast you will be spending full day in the Samburu Game Reserve searching for the big five, the Samburu five and observing the vast unspoiled scenery during morning and afternoon game viewing drive, watching crocodiles bask on muddy riverbanks and velvet monkeys frolic in the late afternoon sun. In addition, you will have a chance to interact with the Samburu People to learn about their culture.
These five particular animals are usually only found north of the equator – the long necked gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe which is characterized by its liver-colored geometric patches defined by narrow white lines, the Grevy’s zebra which is smaller than the common zebra and looks more like a horse, the beisa oryx with black horizontal stripe running across its lower flank and the Somali ostrich males which have blue-grey necks and thighs.

Day 3: Samburu – Mount Kenya
Stop At: Mount Kenya National Park Kenya
After breakfast depart for Mount Kenya region.
Arrive for lunch at Serena Mountain Lodge.
Nestled in the foothills of Mount Kenya National Park, the lodge is famous for high perches and balconies, overlooking a salt lick and waterhole.
Boasting a remarkable record of wildlife sightings from their floodlit waterhole’s and salt licks, here we will enjoy the finest in high-altitude game viewing.

Day 4: Mount Kenya – Lake Nakuru
Stop At: Lake Nakuru National Park Kenya
After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive for lunch at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
Afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru.
On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic, and game drives.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara
Pass By: Maasai Mara National Reserve, Narok 00100 Kenya
Breakfast at the hotel and then depart for Maasai Mara. Arrive for lunch at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge.
1600 hrs, depart for an afternoon game drive. Explore Maasai Mara, Kenya’s finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight.
The first sight of this Game Park is breathtaking. There is nowhere else on earth to compare with this wildlife marvel. The combination of a gentle climate, scenic splendor and untold numbers of wildlife makes the Maasai Mara National Reserve Kenya’s most popular inland destination.
1800 hrs, return to Jambo Mara Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Full day Maasai Mara
Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve, Narok 00100 Kenya
After breakfast leave for a full day game drive with picnic lunch at mara river.
Wherever you go in the vast Maasai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Maasai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers.
The ultimate action here is without doubt the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October to December.

Day 7: Maasai Village Visit – Nairobi
Stop At: Nairobi CBD, Biashara St, Nairobi, Kenya
After breakfast, you will have a guided walk to Maasai village visit then have a walk in the area to overview the Mara (3hours)
The driver will take you back to your accommodation in Nairobi/Airport.
