This is a short but well planned safari that is not too rushed and introduces you to the beasts of nature. It takes you to Kenya’s most popular game reserve renowned for the Wildebeest Migration. You will later proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park which is one of the world’s greatest ornithological site. And finally it takes you to the slopes of Mt Kenya across the equator to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary, the only park with a Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Kenya.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi/Sweetwaters

Stop At: Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy, Mount Kenya Safari Club Road Mount Kenya Safari Club, Nanyuki Town, Nanyuki Municipality 10400 Kenya
Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through central Kenya to the lower slopes of Mt. Kenya to Sweetwaters Game Sanctuary – arriving Sweetwaters Tented Camp in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in this private sanctuary, including a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only one of its kind in Kenya. You will also visit the Visitors Information Centre. Return to Sweetwaters Tented Camp for dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Approx Transit time: 3 hrs Meal plan: {Lunch, Dinner}.

Day 2: Sweetwaters/Lake Nakuru National Park

Stop At: Thomson Falls, Near Ole Ngare Nare River, Nyahururu 20300 Kenya
Depart Sweetwaters after breakfast and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley – making a brief stop at Nyahururu Thomson Falls which was named after Joseph Thompson, one of the first European explorers who walked from Mombasa to Lake Victoria in the 1880’s. Proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park Camp well in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park/Maasai Mara National Reserve

Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve, Narok 00100 Kenya
Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive further along the floor of the Rift Valley with scenic views of both Lake Elementaita and Lake Naivasha en route, which are in the Great Rift from afar on the main highway to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Arrive Mara Sopa Lodge well in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive that introduces you to this vast game filled reserve. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 4: Maasai Mara National Reserve

Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve, Narok 00100 Kenya
Spend the day in Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary where you will have the best opportunity of spotting the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend entire day in the park, or you can choose to have an early morning and late afternoon game drives. At extra cost of US$25 Per person you may visit a local Masai village to see their nomadic lifestyle; the Masai are famous for their bravery, as they have co-existed with the animals over the years. All meals and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve/Nairobi

Another early morning game drive in Maasai Mara, then depart after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving approx 13:00hrs. Drop at your hotel or transfer to the airport for onward flight home. End of services.
