Day 2: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

Today your adventure begins after being picked up from your hotel in Nairobi at 8 am. We’re driving north and west introducing you to the wonders of the Kenya landscapes as you head for Lake Naivasha in the heart of the Great Rift Valley for 2 hours of boat ride in the vast lake.
Lake Nakuru National Park – a small but beautiful park, with compact, makes a great location for spotting wildlife. At the end of the afternoon, you will find a member of the big five, where Lake Nakuru is home to rhino and there will be a good chance of spotting and photographing one of these magnificent beasts. At the end of an inspiring afternoon amongst the wildlife, we retire to the comfort of the lodge for an evening meal and the same rest.

Today our journey continues as we head from the edge of the Masai Mara into its very heart… But now Masai Mara beckons and so we continue to head south into what is surely the world’s greatest park arrived time for hot lunch.

Their fascinating habits and habitats are sure to provoke questions, so do ask your driver-guide to explain the amazing creatures you see all around you. At night back at your accommodation the sights, sounds, and smells of Africa will continue to enchant you on this wilderness adventure.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park

Waking up in the Serengeti is something really special. The sights, sounds, and smells of Africa are all around us, and ahead is a full day of adventure in the world’s most famous national park. Pick your packed breakfast and lunch with your morning section of game drive in Serengeti National Park, marveling at the stunning scenery ever-changing light, and always entertaining wildlife.
After our picnic lunch, we set off again searching for wildlife in this awe-inspiring park. Serengeti’s wonders evolve subtly as the day progresses. The myriad animals and birds are the ‘stars of the show’ and Nature’s dramas can unfold at any time. Of course, the animals don’t work to any schedule so we may find a lion or a leopard, elephant and zebra cheetah, and antelope at any time on our drives. At the end of the afternoon, we return to the camp for dinner and some much-needed rest.

Day 8: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

Today you shall pack a picnic lunch and spend the day within the crater. There are around 30,000 large animals within the crater, so you are bound to see lots of wildlife: large herds of wildebeest, antelope, and zebras roam the landscape, often being pursued by hyenas, cheetahs, or lions. The lake inside the crater is home to numerous colorful bird species, and you can see hippos lounging in the water. Every so often, visitors see impressive bull elephants passing through the crater area in search of water, though herds with cows and calves are rare.

Day 9: Karatu – Manyara National Park – Arusha

After breakfast, drive to Mto Wa Mbu for a cultural visit. Incredibly, this ‘village’ is actually home to over eighteen thousand inhabitants, drawn from 120 different tribes. Today is a superb opportunity to find out about their everyday lives, visiting their farms, huts, artisan shops, and the local market, with your expert driver-guide taking good care of you and sharing his detailed knowledge of the tribal culture.
We enjoy lunch in the village, before exploring the stunning landscape of the park, looking for wildlife on the plains, in the acacia woodlands, and by the shores of the shallow alkaline lake. Lake Manyara is rightly famous for its tree-climbing lions, but they’re far from the only highlight: by the end of an exhilarating afternoon, you could easily have spotted elephant, hippo, wildebeest, buffalo and giraffe, plus many other species.

After breakfast, you start today with the morning section of our game drive in Amboseli National Park. The park is famous for being the best spot in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants. Other attractions of the park include opportunities to meet the Maasai and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest freestanding mountain in the world. This day you explore five main wildlife habitats – open grassland plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush, swamps and marshland that characterize Amboseli. These ecosystems are home to gazelles, elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, hippos among others. The presence of the permanent swamp makes birdlife in Amboseli abundant.
