Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Stop At: Maasai Mara National Reserve, Maasai Mara National Reserve, Rift Valley Province
pick up from the hotel within Nairobi and drive to Maasai mara
Duration: 8 hours

Stop At: Mai Mahiu Road, Mai Mahiu Rd, Nairobi, Kenya
You will have a stop over at the Great Rift Valley point, Mai Mahiu Road, where you will have a breaking view of the floor of the rift valley. The rift valley system was formed 5 million years ago and the rift runs from the red sea through Ethiopia and Kenya and Tanzania. The rift valley is an active volcanic area and has some of the most interesting features including more than 8 lakes, dormant and active volcanic mountains and hotsprings and geysers like the Olkaria geothermal wells and Lake Bogoria geysers.

You can actually see the volcanic Mt Suswa and Mt Longonot from this high place with their evergreen craters and the undulating green rift valley floor. The view from here is just amazing. Make sure to take as many photos from here as you can.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara

The Mara River is a river in Narok County (Kenya) and in Mara Region (Tanzania), and lies across the migration path of ungulates in the Maasai Mara/Serengeti game reserves. This is the site where the wildebeest migration takes place. There are a lot of resident hippos and crocodiles.

The great Serengeti wildebeest migration is the movement of vast numbers of the Serengeti’s wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra, and smaller numbers of Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle, eland and impala. These move in an annual pattern which is fairly predictable. They migrate throughout the year, constantly seeking fresh grazing and, it’s now thought, better quality water.

This is an area in the Central Serengeti where there is permanent pools of water with lots of hippos. They live here all year long and graze the nearby bushes at night

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Early breakfast and depart with packed lunch and game drive.
Arrive and descend to the crater floor with game drive. Ngorongoro Crater- The largest unbroken caldera in the world, Ngorongoro has an area of 260 kilometers and a depth of 610 meters.
