At the foot of the Ngong hills, now known as Karen is the home of Karen Blixen “Isaak Diensen” the famous author whose memoirs were immortalized in the popular film “Out of Africa”. It is now preserved as a museum where visitors can travel back in time and gain an insight into the life of this remarkable and courageous woman. Furniture, artifacts, and photographs from her days as a pioneer coffee farmer are on display. There is an impressive guided tour around the farm house including to the old coffee milling plant.

The Giraffe Center is located in Lang’ata, approximately 20 kilometres (12 min) from the centre of Nairobi, Kenya. It was established in order to protect the endangered Rothschild giraffe that was facing extinction.
In 1979, the Giraffe Center, a nature sanctuary was opened as a rescue and rehabilitation center for the Rothschild Giraffe species.
The center then started to offer free wildlife conservation education to school going children. The sanctuary was started by Jock Leslie Melville, a Kenyan grandson of a Scottish Earl, when he and his wife Betty rescued two baby giraffes.Since then the programme has had huge success having raised and rehabilitated more than 300 Giraffes back into their natural habitat. Today the center offers tourists an exciting opportunity to watch this animals and also to learn about the conservation efforts from a dedicated team.

At mid morning we shall proceed on to the the David Sheldrick orphanage, a heartwarming place to be. The orphanage was
established in 1977 and is located at the edge of the Nairobi national park. The pioneer founders are David and Daphne Sheldrick. Mr.David Sheldrick is a celebrated and fearless former game warden,well recognised for his past wildlife conservation work.
The Center now under the successful management of their daughters caters for orphaned elephant and Rhino calves rescued and salvaged from every part of the country.These young elephants upon recovery are reintegrated back into a conducive natural habitat where they are slowly introduced to adoptive herds. Meet the dedicated team in charge of this delicate project. Enjoy watching baby elephants feeding and later tackling each other playfully in a splashy Mud bath. A lecture on individual elephant history is offered by a local guide.
The Sheldrick wildlife trust now prides itself as the most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world.

This is an afternoon tour to kenya’s most vibrant cultural center. Bomas of Kenya is situated in the Nairobi suburbs of langata. A Boma is Swahili word meaning a traditional homestead. They are set as a museum to represent Kenya ‘s 40 ethnic groups and to express their cultures and traditions. Programs based on traditional dances of the different tribes are presented with brilliant performances. The dancers finish with a lively display of acrobatics and tumbling. The shows begin at 14:30 hrs and ends at 16:30 hrs.
